My thoughts

My thoughts no longer
hover on the mountains of
Nyanga, no longer do they
float in the Zambezi river
or rise with the smoke of the
Victoria falls like a fever
Wrecking havoc in a newborn.
No, they do not gather with the village
elders to pass judgement on the fornicators
Or listen to the Spirit medium
throwing bones and reading into the future.

These thoughts have a mind of their own.
Hostile take over they explode in my mind
As i die, cscream, fight ten thousand times.
Forcing me to travel behind enemy lines
My lips sucuumb to this sorcery - these
thoughts and their hostile take over.

My tongue too rises from an age old sleep
Stirring like a crocodile lying
On the edge of a river bank
lazily my tongue moves: left and right
letters are transported from my mind
I..i...speaking in staccato fashion

The thoughts that have dwelled
in this mind they call home
tired decide to take matters into their own
hands as if to curse this vehicle that
transports them they finally spill
out into the world speaking of injustice.
Thoughts of bad governments and starvation
of rape, genocide and bribery flood the world.
These were my thoughts they fought to be free.
