If you drink milk, stop now!

For some reason i never caught onto drinking milk as a child. I could not even be breastfed (note, breast milk is good for you.)

Each time we went to the rural areas, my grandmother would be up early in the morning excitedly enticing my cousins and i to a fresh cup of cow's milk from her growing herd. My cousins would leap for joy while i on the other hand sadly raised my droopy sleep filled eyes to have them piered by the early morning sun rise.

I loved it. I loved the sun, loved the fresh, cool air brushing against my skin. lagging behind i would be running through tufts of grass, briefly stopping to play with the morning dew and before you know it, im brought back to reality by the cow dung smell and their domineering pesence; some kneeling, others standing, unpertubed at the man rythmatically tugging at its breasts...[My granny knew her cows of a first name basis...is that possible?]

Some of my cousins and my Dad too would even bend over and have the cow's bodily liquids splashed directly from breast to mouth. I could not believe it. My grandmother with adoration in her eyes would have the boys fill a cup with fresh milk, and give it to my Dad who would close his eyes and take a sip and i distinctly recall him saying 'its so fresh and so warm.'

I always politely declined these 'fresh milk' offers and always insisted on drinking milk from 'Dairyboard' your chimombe or the homogenised stuff. And i only said this to get out of drinking cow's milk - nobody ever bothered to take it further and hand me some chimombe.

Today, trolling the net i stumble upon one of my favourite blogs and this guy is talking about how 'milk is bad for you.' Now i have always known this but never had a precise argument, i thought i would share it with my readers and hear what your take is on the story.

His argument contains a lot of technical stuff but to sum it up; milk is good for the cow, and not for us the humans;

The consumption of milk by the post war generations is wholly due to the slick marketing of the dairy industry with the complicity of the federal government and the plantation school system.

The peasants were taught milk was not only "healthy" ... but damn near necessary. Plantation MD's gave the head nod and 4 generations later our little girls are wearing double DD bras to middle school ... and the boys are in B cups.

  2. Hey O.T think about it, why don't you drink breast milk? Because its designed for a baby's system - so is cow's milk - for the digestive tract of a cow. If you do some independent research of your own you will discover some disease that can come as a result of this dependancy we have, to name a few - asthma, hodgkins disease etc.

    Additionally, people who got into the dairy industry early always puport milk to be god for us. Schools are sponsored by dairy milk companies to drive the message home.

    To understand this more, you would also need to check out nature - and the milk out there, why cow's milk and not goat's milk?

    And please go to Denmark Vessey's blog he says a lot on it - i hate milk.

    And over the yrs our cows are now GMO so we basically drinking the cows pus. *imjussayin*
